The Barn at The Old Stables is ideally placed for touring the whole of Cornwall. It lies within one mile of the Camel Trail where you can walk or cycle along this beautiful riverside path in complete peace and tranquility. The local towns of Bodmin and Wadebridge are only a short drive, where you can sample wines at Camel Valley Vineyard. The A30 spine road of Cornwall is just two miles away. From here you can explore the true beauty of the county including its glorious beaches and coves and well-known centres such as Eden, Gardens of Heligan,Tate Modern at St Ives and Maritime Museum at Falmouth. The Camel estuary resorts of Padstow and Rock, with their excellent restaurants, are easily accessible.
The Barn at The Old Stables, set in the heart of idyllic Cornish countryside, makes an ideal retreat for a peaceful getaway. Built in the former farmyard about 1840, it has been sympathetically converted and modernised to provide a superb holiday base. It is independent of the main house, giving you independence and privacy. The Barn is approached via a farm lane and provides a beautifully tranquil setting.
You will receive a very warm welcome and be well looked after during your visit, where quality service and guests’ well-being are key.
A feeling of spaciousness and light will greet you as you enter The Barn with its dual aspect windows and vaulted ceiling. The contemporary accommodation comprises a particularly spacious double bedroom with adjoining fully fitted bathroom. The interior has been professionally designed with handmade furniture. The king size bed is luxuriously fitted with quality ‘sink in’ duvet and pillows. You can enjoy watching TV on a wall-fitted LCD flat screen or listen to music on CD or via iPod docking station. A silent fridge contains bottles of complimentary wine and Cornish spring water. Tea and coffee making facilities are, naturally, on offer. The spacious, well equipped bathroom with luxurious towels and beautifully tiled floor and walls has a quality suite with a deep bath where you may fully relax. Great emphasis has been placed on lighting throughout to create a soothing atmosphere and in the bathroom mood lights create a romantic atmosphere.
Breakfast is served in our welcoming dining room where you may choose from a wholesome Aga cooked English breakfast. We use the finest, local ingredients and Cornish free range eggs. Or you may prefer a lighter, continental style breakfast with croissants, yogurt and a selection of fresh and dried fruits. There is a choice of cereals and juices. Preserves are always homemade.
Guests are welcome to explore and use the beautiful large gardens, where you may sit and indulge in a homemade Cornish cream tea.
